Fellas, sorry for the delays but simply put I think we need to wait for the first patch to ensure that CFP rankings are correct. I am anticipating that this patch would apply to existing leagues, but I wont want to move into playing games in case a restart must occur.
That being said, the CM team has determined the initial rule set for CFB first season in Top. This article will highlight the major updates, but YOU are responsible for knowing the rule book so first, please review it at:
Custom Playbooks:
We will not be allowing custom offensive playbooks. There are a ton of unique playbooks and we think it would simply be too OP to start combining all the elite things from books, especially considering the state of defense in the game.
4th Down Rules:
We have opened the rules a little bit.
- 4th and 4 (or less) past your own 45.
- Any “and goal” scenario regardless of distance.
- You are losing in the 4th quarter.
- You are winning late and a conversion would lead to a game clinching situation.
Kicking and Punting
- Fake punts and FGs are allowed at any time.
- You may only onside kick if you are down in the fourth quarter.
- Scum kicking or safety glitch kicking will result in suspension or boot.
- We are monitoring if a patch will address the roughing the kicker/punter calls.
Hot Routes
You have 5 eligible receivers on offense for every play. You may adjust 2 of the 5 any way you’d like. (excluding custom stems/smart route).
That means, if you change a route to a block assignment, that’s 1. Then if you change a different receiver to a new route, that’s 2.
Note: in madden this number will jump to 3, possibly 4. To mimic how NFL Qbs have more responsibility at the LoS.
Hike n Haul
If you have played vs Bama, then you know how insane this can be. There are plenty of designed QB runs, sprint outs, roll outs to where you should not be calling normal pass plays and immediately leaving the pocket.
