Weekly Recap: 7OTs, GW Pick 6s and Madden League News

Welcome back to the weekly recap of the Top Football leagues. Let’s dive in:

The Oregon Trail

Oregon has had an up and down season. From seeing their coach being fired, to prevailing over #10 Michigan in a 7OT slugfest. With a 7 Touchdown 544 yard day from Dillon Gabriel, he is a lock for the Top 5 Heisman votes.

Though, victory only last a week as Oregon would lose to the University of Maryland at home 39-28. Oregon is on the outside looking in for the CFP, but there’s no shortage of big moments from the Ducks.

Trey Moore Goes Gator Wrasslin

Trey Moore entered the Swamp with 14 sacks on the season, and he left with 16.5. The junior took a fumble recover 93 yards to give the Longhorns a 14-0 lead before the offense saw a snap. Florida did work hard to recover as Lagway had an impressive 6 touchdowns after the rough start but it wasn’t enough as Texas maintains the SEC lead after a 45-42 win.

Six Straight for Pitt

Entering the year, the Pitt Panthers were considered one of the worst day 1 rosters in one of the hardest divisions in the league. Pittjas cares little as they defeat Cal to improve to 6-3 after an 0-3 start on the season. Rodney Hammond averages a whopping 20.8 ypc on the day as Pitt now sits at #22 in the Top 25. Three conference losses put them out of reach of the ACC championship, but Pitt proving to be a force early.

Big CFB Games Coming Up

  • #9 Arizona St heads on the road to the Shoe to take on #1 Ohio State.
  • #21 GT heads to #17 Maryland in the CM bowl.
  • #11 UF looks to avenge their loss this week on the road vs #7 LSU

AFC North Dominance

The Ravens and Bengals are the last unbeatens in Top Madden season 1. But that ends this week as the 2x MVP heads to Cincinnati to take on Joe Burrow. The Ravens have been electric on both sides of the ball to start the season and the ability to grind out long drives with Derrick Henry might be the difference.

Saints get W #1 vs Division rival

New user jackstone took the Saints on a whim this year and earns his first Top win against Atlanta. Can we blame traveling for K1ngs’ struggles? Derek Carr drops 5 touchdowns and 129 yards on the ground by AK41 is not only impressive, but its the 3 sack day for Cam Jordan that terrorizes the rookie Penix and earns the Saints their first of many Top Madden wins.

Is Davey Back?

Davey’s return to Top Madden has been eventful. With an early win over a slumping Nekko, confidence was high for a Patriots team severely lacking in star power. Week 4 changed everything. The Patriots defense absolutely stifled the 49ers offense allowing only 265 yards as they improve to 3-1.

Big Upcoming Matchups

  • 3-1 Panthers travel to Chicago to take on Da Bears.
  • Ravens vs Cincy for the last unbeaten.
  • New Blood: Broncos face Raiders in a new user inter-conference showdown.
