Add into the mix a star-studded Receiver cast of OBJ and Jarvis Landry, the young offensive weapons of David Njoku and Nick Chubb. This team does not even need any dev to remain a roster with top tier talent for the entire cycle. |
| 2 () |  Kansas City Chiefs | | Offense Offense Offense. This team can move the ball. Mahomes is basically a cheat code with his laundry list of Superstar abilities from the Bazooka arm, Perfect RedZone Accuracy, to the ability to throw passes on the run with zero penalty. Tyreek Hill can still burn any single high coverage and Kelce is a force underneath. The signing of the Honeybadger and trade and sign of Frank Clarke gives this team some fun defensive pieces to add to the like of Chris Jones and Kendall Fuller. |
| 3 () |  New Orleans Saints | | The Saints are the perfect blend of exciting offense and enticing defense, young and old, black and gold. With two studs under 25, loaded with X-Factors; Kamara and Lattimore lead the charge on both side of the ball. You also have the Drew Brees To Michael Thomas connection, both whom check in with X-factors themselves. On the Defensive side of the ball they will have a strong pass rush with Davenport and Cam Jordan. The main question for this team is can Cameron Jordan and Demario Davis turn back the clock long enough for the right coach to replenish some youth into the Defense? |
| 4 () |  Los Angeles Chargers | | I am seeing a trend with these power ranking. Stacked Offensive skill players + Young X-factors = A legit team. If you think the Chargers are flying under the radar and are going to fall in team selection you got another thing coming. Melvin Gordan, Derwin James and Joey Bosa all come carry multiple X-Factors. Bosa and Ingram plus the rookie Jerry Tillery will make a solid D-line. If there is one position this team is weak at linebacker is it but that’s nothing a little User Cheese can fix. |
| 5 () |  Baltimore Ravens | | We all know Lamar is fast, but the Madden dev’s went and gave him a SS trait (Fastbreak) that causes defenders to react slower to him on Quarterback runs. Lovely. Lamar has some actual weapons to throw to this year as well with the Ravens picking up rookie pass catchers Hollywood Brown and Miles Boykin. Their run game should also be bolstered by the presence of Mark Ingram and rookie Justice Hill. This Defense interior could use some work, but the secondary gets a nice boost by bringing 3x 1st team All-Pro Safety ETIII into town. |
| 6 () |  Green Bay Packers | | While The Packers roster boasts only one X factor on offense, it may very be the best of them all. Rodgers is as absolutely insane as his real-life counterpart and users should be chomping at the bit to have him. Supported by rising superstar receiver Davonte Adams and a veteran tight end Jimmy Graham, this offense has all the fire power it needs to put up points Week in and week out. After a couple of defensive draft classes, the Packers are finally seeing the pay off. Jaire Alexander should develop into a full time CB1, the defensive front is in much better shape and the packers brought in new talent via draft (Gary and Savage) as well as a top 5 free safety on Adrian Amos. With an elite offense and a talented young defense, expect the Packers to be an early favorite for the Lombardi |
| 7 () |  Carolina Panthers | | Cam Newton alone is reason alone to consider picking this team. Of Cam’s four abilities none may be more intriguing than the Freight Train X-Factor increasing his ability of breaking tackles. McCaffery also receives the Satellite X-factor but arguably more importantly his Backfield Master ability will give him access to 4 additional hot routes. Defensively, The Panthers added rookie Brian Burns to help shore up the pass rush and Luke Kuechly is one of only two non-cornerbacks to receive the Shutdown X-factor. Expect this team to remain a fixture in the top ten of rankings. |
| 8 () |  Arizona Cardinals | | The Cardinals have zero X-factors…so far. This team arrives at 8 on the power rankings because of what could be dev’d in to. Kyler Murray whom is rumored to run a 4.3 40-time will be one of the most sought-after players in Madden this year. Rookie wide receivers Andy Isabella and Hakeem Butler along with savvy vet David Johnson in the backfield round out this potentially showstopping offensive squad. Although the defense could get younger on the outside (Pat Pete, Chandler Jones, Suggs) they have a solid spine (Nkemdiche, Reddick, Budda) to build off of |
| 9 () |  Chicago Bears | | This Team is all about Defense. The pass rush is headed by Khalil Mack who will be reppin’ the Unstoppable Force X-factor as well as some SS abilities. The Secondary led by Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller will make passing difficult for even the most cerebral passers. Plus, they have a little guy by the name of Roquan holding it down in the middle. With the Youth of Trubisky, Cohen and rookie RB David Montgomery, with the right user this team could fly up the Rankings. |
| 10 () |  Los Angeles Rams | | There was nothing really too exciting that happened in the offseason for the Rams which is why they only check in at the 10 spot. Sure, they added Darrell Henderson, but does Gurley’s Arthritis really carry over to Madden? I doubt it. Despite the lack of excitement from the LA squad, they still are loaded on both sides of the ball. The question is, will they be intresting enough to land with a user who is good enough to have them reach their potential? Or will they fall to a tier 3-4 user destining them to slide further down the rankings. |
| 11 () |  Philadelphia Eagles | | a year removed from a super bowl and the Eagles are somehow still the second-best roster in their division. Zach Ertz is the lone X factor on offense, but the rest of the group is not useless in any way. Wentz is a stud young QB with Ertz, Jeffrey, Djax, and Agholor to spread the ball and an exciting rookie running back may shine early behind a talented OL. Not too much concern on the defensive side in the front seven and the addition of Zach Brown only improves the squad. One of the better day one rosters but not too much in terms of developmental talent. |
| 12 () |  Dallas Cowboys | | The Cowboys have one of the most polished rosters from day-1. Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylen Smith are basically a dream team at Linebacker. The offense has a god-level O-Line and playmakers Zeke Elliot and Amari Cooper. The Boys could use some help with their DBS. It is doubtful a tier 1 user takes this team as most enjoy a little team-building challenge, so don’t be surprised if this team’s ranking drops following team selections. |
| 13 () |  Oakland Raiders | | The Raider are the polar opposite of the Rams. They had a LOT of excitement going on this offseason. This team has plenty of potential if it ends up with the right user and could easily climb the rankings if the 3 1st round rookies are enough to attract a tier 1 or 2 user. Even if this team lands in tier 3 user land Antonio Brown’s RAC ‘Em up X-factor and 4 additional hot routes should still give the league plenty of trouble. |
| 14 () |  Houston Texans | | One of the least sexy off-seasons and drafts leads the Texans to almost the middle of the pack. Tyrann Mathieu & Kareem Jackson have been replaced by Bradley Roby & Tashaun Gipson. Tackle Tytus Howard (1.23) & T Max Scharping (2.55) give the Texans and Deshaun Watson hope for a better offensive line performance. With an aging defense and potential salary cap issues in the near future, the Texans have to be led by their offense. |
| 15 () |  Buffalo Bills | | This team has some of the more intresting pieces on defense with rookie Ed Oliver (1.9) and sophomore Tremaine Edmunds in the middle and Tre’Davious White holding it down outside. On Offense you get a young somewhat promising QB in Allen as well as a rookie running back who could dev some Shady McCoy type traits. However, with a WR core lead by Smokey Robinson and Zay jones + not much else on defense this team fits perfect at 15. |
| 16 () |  San Francisco 49ers | | This team will be fun to pass with. You have Kittle rocking the RAC ‘Em up X-factor as well as 4 additional hot routes from the Receiver position. You have an emerging Dante Pettis paired up with speedster Marquise Goodwin and rook Deebo Samuel (2.36). This team also has the makings of a great defensive line with Nick Bosa (1.2,) Deforest Buckner, and company. The downside to this team is both the QB and the slue of RBs will both likely be better in real life than madden. |
| 17 () |  Atlanta Falcons | | This team is stacked from head to toe. Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley may be the best receiver tandem in the game. The Falcons added two Offensive linemen in the first round of the draft. The defense has big names at every position group. The reason this team checks in at 17 is because lack of excitement in the offseason. Drafting two OL man and Matt Ryan leading the squad isn’t exactly sexy. Also, Matt Ryan’s contract is a liability at the age of 34. |
| 18 () |  Jacksonville Jaguars | | This team has probably one of the better offensive lines and Leonard Fournette…. Thats about all that can be said about the offensive. Sure, Nick Foles is a folk hero but that won’t help you in Madden. Anyone picking this team is doing it because of the Defense. Jalen Ramsey is the best corner in the game and the D-line is ridiculous. Hopefully not every position on this team will be untradeable because its going to be hard to pay them all. |
| 19 () |  Indianapolis Colts | | One of the more interesting teams on this list. Flush with cap space, two solid draft classes in a row and a rookie wide receiver who ran a 4.31 in Parris Campbell the Colts should likely be higher on this list. This team may be a year or two of good management away from making a playoff run but the pieces are in place for them to at least start off competitive. |
| 20 () |  Seattle Seahawks | | This team is basically the Panthers but a little worse. You have a QB (albeit slightly smaller) who can create offense. A MLB (albeit slightly better) who can cover and tackle. This team doesn’t have Brian Burns but they do get a freakishly big and fast DK Metcalf to add to the already speedy Tyler Lockett. This team defintley has the cap space and a few core pieces to give the right GM a good foundation to work with. |
| 21 () |  New England Patriots | | The best quarterback rental imaginable for one season. Tom Brady instantly is the best player with his abilities and X-factor but one season later you could find yourself trading for Jacoby Brissett. A better in real life team then Madden team as per usual, the Patriots have pieces in play to build your CFM around but also have a rapidly aging defense. This team needs a solid GM who can wheel and deal and plan for the future. |
| 22 () |  Pittsburgh Steelers | | This team can be viewed as a top 10 team by some and a bottom 10 team by others. While having X-factor Big Ben and Juju, this team has a lot of slightly above average players. No real deep threat, no breakaway running back, no amazing secondary piece and a 3-4 dline that plays better in real life then it does Madden. Building around rookie LB Devin Bush and upcoming Superstar TJ Watt is likely the plan here but offensively an again offensive line and questions about Big Ben’s future leaves this team’s potential up in the air. |
| 23 () |  New York Giants | | This team may be underrated. Sure, Gettleman is a dumbass but the Giants, like the raiders have 3 rookies selected in the first round. Saquon and Evan Engram are good weapons for any coach. Will Hernandez and Nate Solder are great O-line pieces. Two big questions about this team drag the Giants down to 24, are you ready to spend every draft pick of your cycle on Defense? And will Daniel Jones be good enough to run the offense? |
| 24 () |  New York Jets | | The Jets are one of those teams that if paired with the right GM could be deadly. It is really the same idea on both sides of the ball, some good, some…. not so good. On the offense you have Le’Veon Bell and Sam Darnald to build around but…you also have Robbie Williams as your best wide receiver. It is a little better on Defense because you have Quinnen and Leonard Williams. But similar a situation because you have Jamal Adams at Saftey, and the rest of the secondary could use some work. |
| 25 () |  Tennessee Titans | | Tennessee comes into M20 with a mixed bag of opinions on them. Offensively they have the potential to be a top tier team with Mariota/Henry & Co. as well as the defense having young talented pieces. Void of any free agents of note, the Titans offer big upside if used correctly but at the same time they can easily slip into a bottom feeder. |
| 26 () |  Washington Redskins | | The Skins are one of those teams where they did just enough in the offseason to not make you quit madden if you got stuck with them. They have intriguing rookies on both sides of the ball with new signal caller Dwayne Haskins (1.15) and speedy edge rusher Montez Sweat (1.25). Outside of the two fresh rookies, the Skins GM will have Landon Collins and a lot of work to do. |
| 27 () |  Denver Broncos | | The Broncos got young this offseason on offense and didn’t do much to get younger or better on defense. The combination of Drew Lock (2.42) and Noah Fant (1.20) as rookies compiled with youngsters Sutton and Hamilton at wideout and Lindsay and Freeman at RB means you won’t have to worry about drafting skill positions on offense. Which is a plus because outside of Vonn and Chubb this team will need a lot of work on defense. |
| 28 () |  Tampa Bay Buccaneers | | When you get down in to the late 20’s of the power rankings you really have to focus on the good because the bad can be overwhelming. The Bucs come in with Mike Evans and OJ Howard who can give even the worst users a boost to the passing game. They also drafted Devin White (1.5) who can be a game changer with his 4.42 speed. |
| 29 () |  Minnesota Vikings | | Cap space could land this team towards the bottom of the draft. A first-round center Garrett Bradbury and second round TE Irv Smith gives the offense some youth but can this team continue to get better with Kirk Cousins massive contract? A very quiet off-season landing RB Ameer Abdullah which for CFM purposes does nothing, the Vikings are a very difficult team to mold and requires a top-notch GM. |
| 30 () |  Detroit Lions | | The Lions have Kenny (Galvatron) Golladay, T.J. Hockenson (1.8) and Stafford who has a few years left to sling the ball. They also have Kerryon who has some potential in the run game. But outside of newly signed Trey Flowers then don’t have a whole lot going on defensively. Even if 2nd round pick MLB Jahlani Tavai (2.43) far outplays his 4th round draft grade it is doubtful he will get much love from the Madden Dev’s to start the season. |
| 31 () |  Cincinnati Bengals | | Luckily preexisting injuries will be turned off because the only thing this team has going for them is an aging A.J. Green, Joe Mixon who hopefully checks in at mid 80’s, and rookie tackle Jonah Williams (1.11) who is out the entire season. Not even the most savvy GMs would consider taking this team unless they had to. |
| 32 () |  Miami Dolphins | | Ahh The Miami Dolphins… Here is the good: They have Minkah Fitzpatrick and Reshad Jones. Their linebacker are not horrible eithier. But other than that, it will be rough seas for this team. The GM may be able to pawn off Rosen for a mid-round draft pick if they are willing to roll with Fitz-Tragic for the year. Hopefully ALLEN can persevere because it will be a long cycle. |
